Reiki Ryoho Agenda – 23 September 2026 Zoom Gathering
Hello, and a warm welcome to Fall 2026!
The next scheduled Reiki Ryoho Share is Saturday, 24 October.
The time is 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Venue: 10 Queen Street, Bridgewater (FYI: we have cats)
The proposed agenda format for the Share time
- Introductions & Check-ins.
Participants briefly introduce themselves and may share their current state or intention. The intention is to build connection and allows the group to hold space for each other.
- Hatsurei-ho– Self Awareness Meditation
We will do an abbreviated Hatsurei-ho (a method to increase and purify spiritual energy) together. This is a cornerstone of Reiki Ryoho, and Ki cultivation, and can powerfully raise the vibrational level of the practitioner and the space.
Mokunen – Focus the mind – be in silence
Kihon Shisei – preparation (Kihon -‘basics or fundamentals’, Shisei – ’posture or
attitude’)
Say to yourself “I begin Hatsurei-ho now”.
Kenyoku – Dry bathing or Brushing off
Joshin Kokyu-ho – Cleansing Breath (Joshin – ‘escalation’, Kokyu – ‘breath’, Ho – ‘method, law, act’)
Gassho – Hands coming together. Put your hands in prayer position, thumbs at heart level.
Mokunen – Focus the mind – be in silence
Place hands back on lap palms down. Say to yourself “I have finished Hatsurei-ho”.
3. The Gokai – teaching & contemplation – (5 Principles or Precepts)
We will explore in depth the possible intention(s) Usui had for each principle each month (rotating each session). We discussed Be Grateful last month, this month’s attention
will be on Do your duties (apply yourself diligently to your practice).
Open for 5 minutes of group reflection: “Where did you meet this principle in your life this past month?”
4. Guided self-treatment – time permitting
Self-treatment – Spiritual focus
The group will be guided through a full self-treatment sequence, framing each hand position as an act of conscious presence rather than technique. The spiritual thread continues here — you are encouraged to hold the Gokai principle we explored as a quiet intention throughout.
Head positions (~8 min) — eyes, temples, back of head. Invite awareness of the mind settling.
Throat & heart (~6 min) — you are invited to notice the connection between the heart area and gratitude.
Solar plexus & Tanden (~6 min) — connect to the seat of inner fire and diligence.
Closing (~5 min) — hands in gassho (prayer position), sit in the energy for a few minutes. At this time you are encouraged to offer any surplus energy to your own healing or silently to others.
5. Q&A, Discussion, New information/techniques, thought provoking questions
6. Sharing & group reflection
Discussion
Attendees are invited to briefly share what they noticed — in the Hatsurei Ho, the Gokai contemplation, or the self-treatment. We’ll keep this light and non-analytical.
Some useful prompts:
— “What did you notice in your body or mind during the practice?”
— “Did the Gokai principle arise for you during self-treatment?”
— “Is there anything you’d like to carry with you into the coming month?”
In the group we’ll normalize all experiences — busy minds, physical sensations, maybe nothing at all.
All of it is valid.
7. Closing
Your practice commitment
I offer a brief home practice suggestion to bridge to next month — reciting the Gokai each morning in gassho for 5 minutes, or practising Hatsurei Ho before your daily self-treatment. We’ll close with a group gassho and a short dedication of the merit of the practice.
“Usui Sensei reminded us that the secret to inviting happiness is to count our blessings and work on ourselves — that work continues between our meetings.”
